Day 4 of the #SinkIntoSavasana Challenge and today @veggiekins is focusing on #selflove & LOVING THE SKIN YOU'RE IN. 💜
Swipe for more ↗↗ 🌟REAL TALK HERE🌟 - I really contemplated posting this one as it is sensitive topic for me. Opening up makes me vulnerable and that's just something that has always been uncomfortable for me. But then I thought if my goal at Honestly Nutritious is ultimately to empower woman to live happier, healthier lives, I need to be able to also show my sensitive side - because let's face it none of us are PERFECT. You see growing up I had your average teen acne (no big deal right?) but then my 20s hit me hard and I was left with painful breakouts. I tried everything not only to cover them up but to rid myself of them, but nothing seemed to work. This was also around the time, I was in the early stages of discovering my intolerance to gluten and dairy, which between the two wreaked havoc on both my skin and my self-esteem. There were often times where I didn't even want to leave the house in fear someone would "see me". The thing is, someone did "see me" and you know what? We've been together 10 years now and celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary this past August. 💏💜 He loved me for me and everyday I am thankful he came into my life when he did. You see, he showed me that loving the skin you're in comes from something deeper then what the world sees on the outside. Day after day, he told me I was beautiful and still does to this very day. True beauty comes from within.
Fast forward 10 years later and nowadays I rarely wear makeup, lead a healthier, more balanced lifestyle and believe everyone has beauty within them. Sometimes the most beautiful person is simply one who has a big heart and a kind soul. "Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It's about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart and a pretty soul." - Unknown
Much Love xo 😘
